What Is Arbitration?Return to FAQ Videos
Arbitration is a special type of dispute resolution generally agreed upon by the parties in which you have a private judge called an arbitrator making the decision instead of the court itself. In an arbitration, everything is generally kept secret and confidential. You’re not out in the front of the public basically airing your dirty laundry. The arbitrator does have the powers of a judge, but the procedures in arbitration are much more casual than the procedures in a court of law. It’s more economical and much quicker to be in arbitration than it is to be in court.
