What Is Parliamentary Procedure?

Return to FAQ Videos

Transcript:

It’s the procedure of governing meetings of organizations and particularly the members of the organizations. Parliamentary procedure keeps things orderly because it requires an agenda, an order of business, and it requires that business be done in a particular way, that is simple to understand, that can engage the members in debate and discussion in an orderly way, and enables the organization to come to a decision by the members in a way that is clear, inclusive and basically democratic.
